Headshots for Actors
— Acting Headshots Photographer Located in Orlando, Florida —
“I just had to tell you, I submitted to a Netflix show (background actor) with your headshots and within ten minutes they offered me the position! Thank you SO much!”
- Elijah Mitchell
I can’t tell you the joy this message brought to my heart when I received it! Elijah is incredibly talented, kind, has a great look, and is excellent at what he does, so I was truly blessed to have him come through my studio. He needed a new set of headshots — something that would actually get a call-back.
As an acting headshot photographer, my job is to provide you with a full set of headshots that work.
There are a lot of excellent headshot photographers in Orlando! But if your photographer doesn’t specialize in actors (especially film actors), your headshots will not work for you (and in actuality, may work against you in this industry).
When my daughter told me (soooo long ago!) that she wanted to be an actor, I very quickly realized (the hard way) that my business headshot skills weren’t going to get her what she wanted - roles! In fact, we had a hard time even getting her an audition… and that wasn’t because of her talent. She was born to do this. It was because I didn’t know what actors need in their headshots.
That’s why I have spent the better part of the last 15 years getting to know the film acting industry.
Your acting headshots should immediately show casting directors and agencies your point of view as an actor, your character, your accurate appearance, and that you’re a professional. Above all, your headshot set should clearly communicate that you are PERFECT for the role. Excellent headshots in the film industry are vital to a good first impression, and are one of the most important investments you can make to be seen - and NOT overlooked.

These headshot sessions are fun and easy! We’ll put on some of your favorite music, shake it out, and start shooting!

We will accomplish this with a few very important elements that are vital to every acting headshot session:

I will guide you through poses, expressions, and capture you in a way that appeals specifically do casting directors.
Come ready to have fun and capture images that represent your talents and types!
You can expect to get a full set of expressions!
Commercial & Theatrical Expressions included in Every Acting Headshot Session
….and sometimes comedic and candid headshots!
With every look, we gather a wide range of expressions. Many times, one outfit can represent several different types or characters.
We will get the most out of each look that you book. I know that having your headshots taken is a big investment - so we are going to take every opportunity and use every tool at our disposal to get you a set of headshots that not only work, but will work in many situations.
Whether your aim is to get roles in film, TV, commercials, or on the stage, we are going to get you a set of headshots that casting directors can’t afford to overlook.
Why are professional acting headshots so important?
(Can’t I just give my agency some pictures taken by myself or a friend?)
Excellent Headshots help you get in front of casting directors.
—--> And bad ones can immediately disqualify you from the role…
Having your actor headshots taken professionally is incredibly important in order to book auditions.
Whether right or wrong, actors are judged by their looks, and very very quickly! That first impression is to your career.
Having a bad headshot is like telling the directors that you don’t care much about your profession and might not be serious about acting.
An excellent, quality acting headshot immediately communicates expertise. It is your foot in the door!
When it comes to your career, a professionally-taken actor headshot is likely the most important investment you can make in order to be taken seriously.
Let’s get into a bit more detail:

What about Acting Headshots for Teens and Children?
Children and Teen actors are some of my favorite clients! I know how difficult it can be to get started in this field - my daughter started acting at age 9 (which is why I opted to learn how to take acting headshots, actually! As a senior portrait photographer, I already loved working with individuals and teens, so it made sense to learn this very particular craft so that my daughter would get called in for auditions!).
I am happy to offer a special rate for students who are with coaches that opt in to partnership. Ask your coach if they would like to talk about partnering for special rates for their studio.
Our young acting headshot sessions last about 30 minutes per look, where we shoot several different backgrounds per outfit to get you loads of options for your look book.
